Are You A Procrastinator?

Procrastination – every one is guilty of procrastinating at some time or another.  However, some of us are much better at it then others.  Lots of suggestions are floating around out there on ways to overcome being a procrastinator.  Make a list, focus on one thing until it is finished, buy lots of cute organizers so the messes have some place to go – you get the picture.

I believe that procrastination is deeply rooted in our subconscious mind and is related to something we experienced as a child.  Perhaps it was a way to irritate your parents or siblings, maybe it caused people to pay attention to you more (although it may have been negative attention), or it could be that you needed to be that way in order to be “different” from your perfect sister or brother.  Until you are able to find that deep seated reason, your procrastination will probably continue.

Now that is not an excuse to not work on getting better.  It is an explanation that maybe you could search for the reason for your procrastination and finally deal with it.

This video is a great comment on procrastination.  It hits home as to how ridiculous some of our excuses can be.  That doesn’t necessarily mean we will stop making those excuses!  Enjoy!
